This mashup mixes in Michael Jackson’s sounds, the “he-hee’s, woo’s, shamonas” and brings in a sped up pitched voice to bring back the voice and style of Michael Jackson. Mix in the magic of Daft Punk and you have an instant hit. Imagine if Michael Jackson was still alive and Daft Punk and him collaborated on an album. How awesome would that be? This track may be bittersweet as we think of Michael Jackson’s passing, but it’s overshadowed by the awesomeness that is Michael Jackson and Daft Punk mixed together. The track uses cues and audio transitions to bring the viewer/listener in and then follows up with a fantastic beat that keeps the viewer/listener interested in the music that they’re hearing. The balance between Michael Jackson and the beat that Daft Punk developed in this is exceptionally well-balanced and it suggests that this mashup would’ve quite enjoyable if Michael Jackson and Daft Punk had actually produced an album on a collaboration together. The mashup manages to actually bring the original singer’s pitch to sound just like Michael Jackson, while still keeping the flair of the original song without losing the beat. Overall, I love the mashup and I hope we see more of these in the future.
